They sail across the Mediterranean Sea, commanding a ship trading between Sicily and North Africa. They face danger and crises, overcoming many challenges working together. They also are blessed with a daughter.
Esmeray, Bastone, and their daughter Aspasia navigate their trade ship between Spain and the Canary Islands. They become involved in the Genoese struggles to maintain a trading colony on Lanzarote, the easternmost Canary Island.
